Controversial Nigerian rapper Darlington Okoye widely knwon as Speed Darlington has returned to social media following his recent release from prison.

The contentious rapper was reportedly arrested at a concert in Owerri, Imo state, not long after he was released for the first time. On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, he was released after being detained for roughly two months.

After the singer's attorney, Marshall Abubakar, filed a bail plea, a Federal High Court in Abuja granted Speed Darlington N20 million bail on January 16 and required one surety to pay the same sum. Justice Ekerete Akpan reached this ruling.

After some time, his attorney affirmed that he has been freed. The musician made his first internet post, complete with a coded voiceover, following his imprisonment. Using the alias Akpi, he posted pictures of bulls and said that when they fight, people may retreat not out of fear but rather to replenish their strength.
