Nigerian politician and businessman Shina Peller has responded to allegations that he has family ties with TikTok star Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja popularly known as Peller.

In a recent interview with Channels Television, the nightlife leader clarified that the TikTok live-streamer is not related to him.

Shina Peller claims that he has heard of the content creator and that people frequently inquire as to whether they are related. Despite coming from a large family, he said that Peller on TikTok is not related to him.

The politician clarified that his family had acquired the moniker "Peller" since his late father's murder in 1997 and that it was the stage name of his magician father, Professor Peller.

Although they are not related by blood, Shina Peller stated that he can see why the TikTok star would like to take the Peller moniker.

He said, “For the young man Peller, I have heard about him and a lot of people talk to me, whether he is a member of our family. Truly we have a lot of Peller family, it’s quite extended but he is not a member of the family. The name Peller, as you know, is a stage name that was given to our father as a magician and it is a name that the family has adopted since the time of my father. So Peller the comedian is not a member of the Peller family. It’s a successful name and he’s just being smart, and feels he will be able to work with the name so I can’t blame him but I can tell you categorically that he is not a member of the Peller family.”

Netizens had differing opinions regarding Shina Peller's statement that he was unrelated to the TikTok live-streamer.
