Reality star and actress Ijeoma Josephina Otabor better known as Phyna has explained her decision to drop her family name “Otabor.”

The reality star stated in an interview with TVC's Theophilus Elamah that she felt abandoned by her family, which is why she made this decision.

Phyna vented her annoyance at being neglected despite her repeated requests for approval and attention from her loved ones.

According to Phyna, she has had enough and doesn't want to plead for them to be in her life any longer. Phyna claimed in the video that she was enjoying her independence and putting her own health first, free from the mental strain and stress of looking to her family for approval.

Her interview with the media outlet sparked an online backlash as many people asked why she was making her family problems public.
