'Keep romance alive in your marriage' - Pastor Adeboye advises clerics

The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye surprised many with an advice he gave to his fellow men of God.

In one of his shared sermons, the Man of God counselled clergymen to make an effort to maintain passion in their marriages.

Pastor E.A. Adeboye mentioned that some pastors don't even play with their wives anymore, believing it will divert them from spiritual things and that some haven't gone on dates in a long time.

To keep their homes alive, he also suggested that they give each other pet names.

Pastor Adeboye's post has taken many Nigerians by surprise, as many believe that clergymen are reluctant to discuss love in public.

He said, "The fact that you are a Christian does not in any way take romance out of your marriage. Marriage is the only institution where romance and intimacy is allowed between a man and a woman.

Some pastors hardly go on dates with their spouses because they consider such a romantic activity as a distraction from their focus on spiritual matters. Some of them don’t even play with their spouses anymore. Beloved, the anointing does not reduce the need for romance in marriage."
