Nigerian singer Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as KCee, has responded to allegations claiming he failed to settle veteran musician Pa Mike Ejeagha for the use of his music.
KCee clarified that he had met with the iconic singer and obtained his consent, ensuring all necessary legalities were handled appropriately.
To substantiate his claims, KCee shared an old video of a visit to Pa Ejeagha, where he reminded the elder statesman of their initial meeting in 2018.
In the video, Pa Ejeagha is seen nodding in agreement, with another elderly man and a younger individual present, both corroborating KCee's statements.
Amidst addressing these accusations, the "Limpopo" hitmaker also took the opportunity to announce the release of his forthcoming album, "Mr. Versatile," set to drop on Friday, July 26.
Kcee wrote, "Be sure of your source of information before you become an agent of fake news! With all due respect to the living legend Mike Ejeagha and his family, I want to state categorically that in 2018, I got his consent before using his intellectual property and every paperwork to that regard was officially engaged."
"To whom it may concern, kindly take note! Meanwhile, my album ‘Mr Versatile’ drops on Friday July the 26th. Kindly stream on all platforms"
This new project promises to showcase KCee's diverse musical talents and further cement his place in the Nigerian music industry.
