Crossdresser James Brown has warned his colleagues to be careful following the death of his Abuja-based colleague, Area Mama.

On Thursday, August 8, 2024, it was reported that the crossdresser known as Area Mama had been killed in cold blood.

The news was revealed by an X user who wrote, “Popular crossdresser Abuja Area Mama was allegedly murdered in cold blood earlier today. The pictures are so gory, I can’t post them here (Instagram). It’s on my Telegram channel. May his soul rest in peace.”

His death comes after he had previously opened up about the threats and mistreatment he faced due to his lifestyle. In 2022, Area Mama recounted how he was assaulted in Gwarimpa during one of his ‘hookup’ outings in Abuja.

He revealed that he was beaten by a group of men after a dispute with a taxi driver who had patronized his services.

Area Mama’s death has sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians, including his fellow crossdresser, James Brown.

The Princess of Africow shared his thoughts on the recent death of his colleague. In a video shared on social media, James Brown stated that he does not have the courage to wear his cross-dressing outfits in public.

He noted that he limits his crossdressing to his content creation, adding that it is risky to be a popular crossdresser and be engaged in prostitution.

He further advised crossdressers in Nigeria to pay attention to their surroundings and stay safe.

“All crossdressers in Nigeria, stay safe out there. What happened to Area Mama is sad. She was supposed to reduce her night work now that she was popular. I don’t have the mind to wear my cross-dressing outfits out in public and stand by the roadside. Mine is for Instagram content, movies, and inside my house. It’s very risky to be doing runs as a popular crossdresser,” he said.
