Afrobeats diva Tiwa Savage has talked about her moving experience with the change in public opinion after her marriage to Teebillz ended in 2018.
The songstress recently discussed the tremendous support she received from Nigerians during her ascent to stardom, marriage, and the birth of her son in an interview with the Receipts podcast, which is accessible on Spotify.
She said, “When I came out, I was Nigeria’s sweetheart when I started and I could do no wrong in Nigerian’s eyes. I did everything by the books, I did everything by the books, you know, I went to university and I wasn’t a baby mama. I got married then I had a baby so I did everything in the right order and everybody loved me and then everything happened.”
According to Tiwa Savage, after the turbulent public divorce and the subsequent media attention, she saw a significant change in the way others saw her.
After her ex-husband made their split public, she voiced her shock at being blamed for the divorce and subjected to criticism.
