Funsho Adeoti, the first wife of Nigerian marketer and film producer Kazim Adeoti, has responded to the abuse she received after making a recent Instagram post.
Funsho used social media to emphasize the importance of thankfulness and gratitude in the wake of the incident.
She urged her followers to adopt an attitude of gratitude even in the face of adversity by citing the Bible, specifically 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
Funsho Adeoti talked about her own gratitude practice, saying that she constantly gives thanks to God for everything, no matter how challenging.
In her words, “1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us.
Thankful in all circumstances, even when those circumstances are difficult.”
Funsho made this remark following a barrage of criticism for sharing a Thanksgiving greeting on Instagram soon after her husband's second wife, Mercy Aigbe, suffered a serious loss.
Given the circumstances, many thought Funsho's timing was insensitive.
On the other hand, numerous admirers stood up for Funsho, pointing out that she regularly posts thankfulness notes on social media. They argued that her article should not be seen as an act of inconsideration because it just expressed her personal opinions.
