Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has predicted that her upcoming movie, "Everybody Loves Jenifa," will earn N5 billion when it opens in theatres this December.

Speaking alongside members of the film's cast in a widely shared video, the filmmaker expressed hope that the film will earn N5 billion this year.

She said, “We are making N5 billion this year.”

The movie would surpass the record set by another Funke Akindele film, "A Tribe Called Judah," which became the first Nigerian film to reach one billion naira if it makes the anticipated amount.

Everybody Loves Jenifa stars actors like Patience Ozokwor, Funke Akindele, Nancy Isime, Jackie Appiah, Omowunmi Dada, Falz, D'banj, Chinenye Nnebe, Destiny Etiko and Stan Nze among other notable casts.

The movie Everubody Loves Jenifa premiered on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
