Evan Okoro shares why Ruby Orjiakor didn’t invite her, other Nollywood stars to her traditional marriage

Nollywood actress Evan Okoro has responded forcefully to the criticism she and other celebrities received for not attending her colleagues Ruby Orjiakor and Onwa Idemili's traditional wedding.

Despite Ruby being one of her closest friends, Evan passionately explained why she and a few others did not attend the celebration in a recent video intended to refute the criticism.

Over the weekend, Ruby and Onwa, whose relationship has been under a lot of scrutiny, exchanged vows in a ceremony that was only attended by close friends and family.

Many were shocked to learn that there were no Nollywood stars present at the event, which caused a social media outcry. Dismayed by the absence, fans bombarded Ruby's close friends' social media profiles with accusations that they failed to help the couple on their special day.

Evan, who was clearly annoyed by the criticism, clarified the matter on social media. Rejecting the accusations with firmness, she said that Ruby and Onwa had purposefully chosen not to invite her or any other Nollywood celebrities to the traditional wedding.

Evan claims that she and others appreciated the couple's decision to have a small, private ceremony.

Evan told detractors in a belligerent manner that Ruby had committed to inviting her and their coworkers to the upcoming white wedding, which is expected to be a lavish occasion.

Evan was also adamantly against any attempts to discredit the marriage or make claims of envy. She stressed that these claims were completely unfounded and aimed to demolish the myth of jealousy and competition in Nollywood that certain people are trying to spread.
