Nigerian singer Skales recently condemned and referred to the EFCC as a criminal outfit and fiercely denounced its actions.
In contrast, the EFCC released images of the two suspects on social media the next day, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
The EFCC accuses these individuals of taking part in online fraud, particularly dating fraud.
They had been residing at Skales' home and thought of him as their teacher.
According to the EFCC, "The suspects: Udemba Chukwuemeka (a.k.a. Jody) and Jamal Jamiu Onasola (a.k.a. Jamal) were arrested at the residence of a musician: John Njeng Njeng (a.k.a. Skales)."
“The two suspects, suspected of being involved in a dating scam, described Njeng as their “mentor”. While Chukwuemeka has been in Njeng’s residence for two years, Onasola has only stayed there for few months.”
The commission has stated that the two individuals will face charges in court once their investigations are done.
This statement is in reaction to Skales’ claims that EFCC officials broke into his home early in the morning, frightening his family, including his 6-month-old daughter.
Skales took to X, formerly Twitter, to protest them, namely for injuring his producer’s leg.
The two people will be charged in court, according to the commission, after their investigations are complete.
