Nigerian socialite Sam Larry has faced harsh criticism on social media after revealing that he paid late singer Mohbad a whopping N2 million to perform at his mother's funeral but the singer never showed up.

The socialite has been in the news for allegedly having a hand in Mohbad's death. The Lagos Police made an arrest of the socialite on Thursday night to help with ongoing investigations into Mohbad's death.

Sam Larry told the police, in a statement that has since been made public, that he paid Mohbad N2 million to perform at his mother's funeral two years ago, but Mohbad did not show up despite receiving the money.
