Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has spent a significant amount of time planning for his birthday this year.

The superstar initially announced that Atlanta, his second home, would be the location of his 32nd birthday celebration.

In a recent update, Davido shared on his X page that he will be donating to charity homes and orphanages that support young people in avoiding drug addiction. He promised to provide more information soon and mentioned that the sum would be N300 million.

He wrote, "Once again, for my birthday this year, we will be donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse and addiction. This year, the donation will be N300 million. Details will follow shortly."

Davido's announcement sparked mixed reactions among social media users. While some praised him for his generosity, others claimed he was seeking attention and wouldn't fulfil his promises.

It's worth noting that in 2021, Davido established a charity foundation to mark his 29th birthday. He asked for N1 million from friends and compassionate individuals to support his foundation.

Through his David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), he donated N237 million to 424 orphans across Nigeria as a result of this initiative.
