Popular social media critic Daniel Regha has voiced his displeasure with award-winning singer Burna Boy and others for making fun of the newly crowned Miss South Africa 2024.

The criticism came following the self-acclaimed African giant's response to the new titleholder's announcement, which came after Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina withdrew from the Miss South Africa 2024 competition.

Daniel Regha underlined on the X platform that the success of a deaf woman as Miss South Africa 2024 is a perfect example of the value of diversity.

He added that even if Chidinma's circumstances are unfortunate, judging Mia, the winner, only based on her skin tone is racially discriminatory and hypocritical.

He wrote, “A deaf woman just won Miss South Africa for the first time, that’s a show of representation & inclusivity; What happened to Chidimma is unfortunate, but it’s also hypocrisy to mock the winner (Mia) based on her skin colour. That’s subtle racism, & the very same thing we are trying so hard to end.

“I am tired of Africans hating on fellow Africans; We are despised by many foreigners (racists), & also disunited amongst ourselves. Africa is the one place very African should be able to call home, but we continue fighting a never-ending war. The xenophobia, the tribalism, & ethinic bigotory is truly disappointing.”
