The official Instagram account of popular Nigerian singer, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, alias D’Banj, has been hacked into by cybercrooks.
The singer, who has over 4 million followers, was logged out of his account after falling prey to the phishing hack.
Two Turkish men claimed to be the hijackers as they modified the singer’s profile and even went as far as going live with it.
During the live session, the men played the singer’s hit track, “Oliver Twist”.
The cybercrooks changed the singer’s biography to read, “Official Instagram Support channel. If there is an important development about your account, you will be notified through this channel.”
All the pictures and videos on the Instagram account have been taken down.
D’Banj took to Twitter on Saturday to raise an alarm and warn the public about the scam. The singer also shared that he and his team are working tirelessly to restore his account to normalcy.
