Afrobeat star, Burna Boy has once again proven why he is arguably the biggest talent in Nigeria and on the continent after it was announced his song will feature on the playlist for the inauguration of US President-elect Joe Biden and his Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris.
The playlist which contains a total of 46 songs features Burna Boy's 'Destiny'.
He becomes only the first Nigerian of the modern era to have a song featured on the playlist for a US presidential inauguration.
'Destiny' is the fourth song of his 'African Giant' album which earned him his first solo Grammy nomination.
The 46-track playlist was curated by Benoni Tagoe, Issa Re, and D-Nice’s audio everywhere label Radio, Naija Loaded reports.
The others on the playlist include: Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, and SZA.
A statement by the Biden-Harris team said the playlist “represents the diversity of our nation and our strength and resilience as we look forward to new leadership and a new era in America."
The swearing-in of Biden and Harris as the 46th administration of the United States will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
