Nigerian politician and pageant titleholder Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu has taken her admirers back in time by sharing a photo she captured 36 years ago at her beauty queen crowning.
The politician, who was recently appointed a minister in Nigeria, took to her social media to celebrate the 36-year milestone.
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu wrote about how she felt while she waited for the pageant organizers to reveal the winner's name.
According to her, she experienced butterflies in her stomach as she waited to hear the competition's final result.
She noted that she received congratulations after the competition.
She wrote, "ON THIS DAY, 36 YEARS AGO…. BUTTERFLIES FLUTTERING IN MY STOMACH, I WAITED FOR THE FINAL CALL ON THE STAGE OF THE NATIONAL THEATRE, LAGOS DURING THE THIRD EDITION OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN NIGERIA PAGEANT. By His grace, it ended in praise. #Historyville."
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu was confirmed as the substantive Minister of State Foreign Affairs on October 30, 2024. Following her appointment, she declared her commitment to the foreign policy thrust of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
