British actor Idris Elba has revealed new additions to the cast of the highly anticipated movie ‘Children of Blood and Bone’.

Afrobeat star Ayra Starr and actor Mofe Damijo are among the latest names to join the production.

Based on Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ is being directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. Other cast members include Thuso Mbedu as Zélie, Tosin Cole as Tzain, Amandla Stenberg as Princess Amari, and Damson Idris as Prince Inan.

Chiwetel Ejiofor, Regina King, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, and Lashana Lynch are also set to appear in the film.

Set in the mythical kingdom of Orïsha, Children of Blood and Bone follows the journey of Zélie, a young warrior determined to restore magic to her people facing oppression from a ruthless king.

Filming is scheduled to take place in South Africa, with the movie expected to be released in early 2027.
