Just like many residents of Lagos, some celebrities were caught in heavy traffic on Wednesday, April 2, due to ongoing road construction in the Lagos Island area.
After the Eid-el-Fitr holiday on March 31 and April 1, people returned to work but faced long traffic jams along parts of the Third Mainland Bridge. The morning rain made the situation worse.
The construction work on Lagos Island has been blamed for the gridlock, which caused frustration and sparked conversations online.
"Lagos traffic" became a trending topic on X, formerly called Twitter, as people shared their stories.
Reacting to the conversation, some Nigerian celebrities also shared their struggles.
Stand-up comedian Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, popularly known as Ali Baba, recounted his experience in a shared video. He lamented spending over 12 hours stuck in traffic and revealed that he eventually ran out of fuel during the ordeal.
