A Yobe man identified as Baari Bacha has been arrested the state's police for allegedly cutting off the hand of his wife, Halima Bulama.

Reports revealed that the suspect, Bacha, committed chopped off Bulama for attending a ceremony without his consent.

It was gathered that Bacha had made it compulsory for his wife to get permission for any ceremony before attending.

“This singular act of her disobedience provoked Baari and led to a heated argument between them which later prompted the husband to use cutlass to chop off the wife’s hand,” a source said.

Bulama is currently being treated in an undisclosed hospital and the suspect will be charged to court after investigation, according to Dungus Abdulkarim, the Yobe State Police COmmand's spokesperson.
