Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has mourned the death of the wife of former Inspector-General of Police, Alhaja Ariat Aderoju Smith.
Eulogising her, the Governor said she will be greatly missed.
He also added that she will be buried today in accordance with Muslim rites and NCDC guidelines.
"My sincere condolence to Alhaji Musiliu Smith, former IGP on the death of his wife, Alhaja Ariat Aderoju Smith who passed away yesterday June 5th, 2020. She was a wife, mother and grandmother who genuinely cared and loved everyone. She will be missed.
"She will be buried today in accordance with Muslim rites. Only immediate family members will be allowed at the burial rites, in strict compliance with the NCDC and the State's guidelines on #COVID19 social distancing protocol," he tweeted.

Alhaja Ariat Smith died at the age of 69 on Friday, June 5, after she succumbed to an undisclosed illness.
