On Friday, August 9, 2024, controversial investigative journalist, David Hundeyin exposed a plot by an international NGO, known as Dialogue Earth over their attempt to start a smear campaign targeting Dangote Refinery under the pretext of environmental concerns.
Reacting to the series of posts by Mr Hundeyin, showing hardcore evidence of the foreign NGOs dubious actions against the Dangote Refinery, thousands of Nigerians took to social media to express their thoughts about the entire expose.
According to some Nigerians, there are far bigger forces fighting the Dangote Refinery and not only the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC).
They added that the real enemies of the refinery are in the Western world.
They stated that the West will do anything to make sure Africa as a continent will not progress, so they can continue to benefit from our staleness.
Others also questioned the intentions of the recent endless lists of foreign NGOs 'fighting' climate change.

Damn! I hate that there are many external forces working against us.

Also hate that we cannot even afford to contribute to global warming, but we will suffer its consequences.
I hope the @DangoteGroup @AlikoDangote team will see this- I doubt they read though because they have failed to address many issues

Reason they keep giving us puppets as president. Don't be surprised that some of them are in the know.

Thank you so much Sir for all you do for humanity. We will never forget
But why? Freaking Why ? With just $500 to keep us leashed, these people never wanted us to do anything good imagine calling Dangote refinery first Nigeria refinery which means all the ones we had before was deliberately keeled with the help of our leaders I hope Dangote succeeds…

The Nigerian government needs to stand firmly behind the Dangote Refinery because it is a game-changer for our economy. By refining our own oil, we can stop depending on expensive imports and start benefiting directly from our natural resources. This refinery will create jobs,…

Third world countries deserve, heck, have the right the destroy their own environment in the pursuit of their own industrialization to the exact level that first world countries did.
That's it. That's the damn TED talk.
