Some local airlines like Air Peace, Max Air, and Aero, under the umbrella of airline operators in Nigeria are working towards striking a deal with the management of Dangote Refinery to buy aviation fuel at an affordable price.

Dangote's refinery now sells aviation fuel at between N1,100 and N1,250 a litre.

These prices are dependent on the airline and the exchange rate at which the fuel was bought.

One of the leaders of the association and chief executive officer of Top Brass Aviation Limited, Roland Iyayi, revealed that the operators had a three-hour engagement the management of the refinery as well as with Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group.

According to Iyayi, the two parties had agreed that there would be direct fuel supply to the operators from the refinery for about N980 a litre.

Recall that in February 2024, airline operators cried about the rising cost of aviation fuel, adding that it is a crucial issue and needs quick intervention to prevent the collapse of the aviation sector.
