A solution to the keke/okada ban has been discovered through the advancement of technology.
The technological advancement has come in the form of a foldable electric motorbike released on 2 September 2009 which was produced mid-2010. Christened YikeBike, it weighs 11.2 kilograms (24.7 lb) and when folded, it is small enough to fit in a carry bag, so it can be transported in an urban bus. The YikeBike was invented by Grant Ryan and designed by a team in New Zealand for over 5 years.
According to the team, at yikebike.com, they were envisioning a unique and compact personal transport solution to be able to wade through congested cities, pollution and help people save time.
The vehicle has no chain, pedals, gearbox, mechanical brake, cables or levers. These functions are provided by a 0.2 kW (0.27 hp) electric motor and controller. The YikeBike has regenerative electronic anti-skid brakes. There are also built-in lights, indicators, and horn for safety. It can be carried around and easily work on roads with pot-holes.
The price however is $3,495 USD - $4,995 USD.

Recall that the Lagos State Government banned motorcycles and tricycles from plying major roads in the State in about 15 Local Governments.
The ban was placed on roads like Apapa, Lagos Mainland, Surulere, Eti Osa, Lagos Island, and Ikeja. The ban not only covers motorcycles but ride-hailing platforms like Opay and Gokada.
The ban has already kicked into effect from February 1st of this month.
