Ariel Foods FZE has launched its RUTF factory in Lagos.
This was disclosed in a tweet by Special Assistant to President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari on New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi.
Explaining what the RUTF factory was, Tolu said it was an acronym for Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Foods. RUTF is a UN-recommended product used to tackle severe acute malnutrition (~6% of Nigerian kids under 5)," he said.
Tolu noted that though huge quantities of RUTF were imported annually, however, Ariel chose to manufacture locally.
