The Nigerian Senate has tasked the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation with the duty of rehabilitating and evaluating the dilapidated state of the refineries for total overhaul.

The Senate, saddled the National oil firm with this request today at the plenary session following a petition by Senator Yusuf Yusuf to find solutions to the comatose state of NNPC’s four refineries.

The order was made by the Senate to save the country from further wastages and spillages of its meagre resources.

2. Direct the Joint Committees on Downstream, Upstream and Gas to look into the issues raised and report to the Senate.

In addition, it asked the Joint Committees on Downstream, Upstream, and Gas to look into the issues raised and bring feedback to the Senate at a later date.
