The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika has impounded a British airline for conducting commercial flights into Nigeria, amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The Minister made this revelation in a tweet posted on his timeline.
He alleged that the airline, Flair Aviation was only given approval for humanitarian operations. Unfortunately, they were caught conducting commercial flights.
Sirika said the crew is currently in detention, undergoing interrogation. It also seized the aircraft as well.
The Minister promised to get to the bottom of the matter.
COVID-19. Flair Aviation, a UK company, was given approval for humanitarian operations but regrettably we caught them conducting commercial flights. This is callous! The craft is impounded, crew being interrogated. There shall be maximum penalty. Wrong time to try our resolve!????????
