The Transmission Company of Nigerian has announced the restoration of power to two of the 150MVA power transformers in Ayede substation.

This is coming after the fire incident that ravaged the power plant of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company at Ayede, Akinyemi, Ring Road, Ibadan.

According to TCN, power has been restored to Ijebu Ode, Shagamu and most parts of Ibadan after yesterday's fire incident. This was confirmed via its Twitter handle.

However, the regulator is yet to complete the reconnection of the third transformer as routine checks were ongoing to "ascertain its integrity before energizing."

The regulator thanked the affected for their patience and understanding.

"We appreciate the patience and understanding of affected customers even as TCN engineers strive to restore bulk power through the remaining transformer in the substation to Ibadan Distribution Company," the statement read.
