Dream big without limitation - Tony Elumelu says as he inspires African entrepreneurs

Nigerian business mogul Tony Elumelu has shared nuggets of advice with his social media followers as the new week begins.

Elumelu, the founder of The Tony Elumelu Foundation, encouraged African entrepreneurs to "dream big". He made this known in a post on his Instagram page on Monday, June 10.

"Welcome to a brand new week #AfricanEntrepreneurs! The first thing I tell people is that you should dream BIG. No limitations, no boundaries; feel free to dream. Also, think of how to translate these dreams into realistic, implementable actions,” he wrote.

The chair of Heirs Holdings, Transcorp, and United Bank for Africa has grown to become one of the most influential entrepreneurs on the continent.

His Tony Elumelu Foundation has disbursed more than $100 million to young African entrepreneurs from all 54 African countries under the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) Entrepreneurship program in the last 10 years.

This was announced by the foundation as it revealed the successful entrepreneurs in its 10th selection for the TEF Entrepreneurship Program.

It said the new cohort brings the total number of young African entrepreneurs who have received funding, mentoring, and capacity-building support from the Foundation to 20,000, double the initial commitment.

“The Tony Elumelu Foundation has disbursed US$100,000,000 directly to young African entrepreneurs who have created over 400,000 direct and indirect jobs, contributing significantly to Africa's economic growth and development.
