Zimbabwe has confirmed its first COVID-19 death following the death of a 30-year-old journalist, according to state-owned broadcaster ZBC.
Zororo Makamba, who was also a broadcaster and film-maker, was diagnosed with the virus on Saturday.
According to AFP news agency, Zororo had visited the US late last month and had returned home via South Africa.
As of March 23, the globally recorded cases of coronavirus has risen to at least 353,681 infections with more than 15,000 deaths.
Zimbabwe, as at the time of this report, has recorded a total of three confirmed cases with Zororo's death being the country's first.
