The Sudanese Armed Forced have reportedly lost at least 5 officers in a grenade explosion that left about 25 persons injured.

According to the police, the explosion took place on Tuesday around the Al Haj Youssef neighborhood in the capital Khartoum.

According to a statement cited by Suna News Agency, the injured are currently receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital.

Witnesses of the explosion said that the grenade exploded amid an altercation of attendees to a wedding party.

Sudan Tribune daily reported that security sources have started investigations to determine the actual cause of this violent action.
