A Somalian military convoy suffered a bomb blast attack on Sunday, leaving four government soldiers dead and several others wounded, near the town of Warmahan, lower Shabelle region.
According to Anadolu Agency, the attack was orchestrated by Somalia-based al-Qaeda affiliated group al-Shabaab, who claimed responsibility for the bombing.
"Al-Shabaab terrorist group attacked military personnel travelling between Wanlawayn and Afgoye with a roadside blast,"
Reinforcements were sent to the scene and security forces conducted an operation against al-Shabaab in the area but no one was arrested so far, he added.
Warmahan is a small agricultural town located near Afgoye, 30 kilometers (18 miles) southwest of the capital Mogadishu.
