Copa del Rey: Real Madrid suffer fresh injury blow ahead of El classico final

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that French international Eduardo Camavinga will miss the Copa del Rey clash against Barcelona this weekend.

Camavinga sustained an injury in Los Blancos' hard-fought 1-0 victory over Getafe in La Liga on Wednesday, April 23.

The club has now confirmed that the 22-year-old suffered “a complete tear of his left adductor tendon” and will miss the remainder of the season.

The injury is a significant setback for Carlo Ancelotti, who has already lost his first-choice left-back Ferland Mendy to injury.

Also, the likes of Éder Militão, Dani Carvajal, and David Alaba are all nursing injuries.

“Camavinga needs to be assessed [on Thursday], but both he and Alaba have muscle problems, and it’s unlikely they will be available for Saturday,” Carlo Ancelotti said.

“I’m not upset because the objective was to get the three points… It’s true that we aimed for more solidity at the back and need more effectiveness up front. Yes, Fran García is the only alternative at left-back for Saturday.”
