Nigeria head coach, Eric Chelle, has showered encomiums on two Super Eagles stars for their impressive performances against Zimbabwe, despite his side's failure to see out the game.

The Super Eagles were pegged back in stoppage time after Victor Osimhen had broken the deadlock in the 74th minute to give the three-time African champions the lead against the Warriors at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

The draw leaves the 2013 AFCON winners in fourth position in Group C with just seven points after six matches in the qualifiers.

The Super Eagles risk potentially missing a second consecutive FIFA World Cup as they are currently six points adrift of group leaders South Africa.

Despite the disappointing result, Eric Chelle, in his post-match press conference, hailed his two full-backs, Ola Aina and Bright Osayi-Samuel, for their performances on the flanks.

“Ola played on the right side and sometimes on the left side. I think he had a good game, and Bright too,” Chelle said.

“But it was difficult at the end, in the last minutes. We ended up with a draw,” he added.
