Nigerian international Kenneth Omeruo has stated that a player of Victor Osimhen's caliber must experience the FIFA World Cup.

Osimhen starred as the Super Eagles defeated Rwanda 2-0 at the Amahoro National Stadium on Friday, March 21.

It was Nigeria's first win in the qualifiers, which moved them to fourth place on the Group C table.

After missing out on a World Cup ticket in the last edition, hosted by Qatar in 2022, following Nigeria's failure to beat Ghana in the doubleheader qualifiers, Omeruo believes that a player with Osimhen's qualities cannot afford to miss two consecutive World Cup finals.

“Just a few players in the Super Eagles have been to the World Cup; they understand the importance and amazing atmosphere," Omeruo told Brila FM.

“For a player like Victor Osimhen, he has to be at the World Cup, he has to experience the World Cup. I have spoken to Osimhen, and he knows how important the game against Zimbabwe is.

“The players are not going there (against Zimbabwe) to joke, and I believe they will get six points from the two games.”

The Super Eagles will host Zimbabwe in their matchday six fixture on Tuesday, March 25, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
