Former Nigerian midfielder John Mikel Obi has revealed that Chelsea could revive their interest in Victor Osimhen this summer.
Osimhen, 26, was close to joining the Blues last summer, but the move fell through on transfer deadline day after the player and the club failed to agree on personal terms.
The Super Eagles striker later joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli after falling out with his parent club.
Osimhen has once again been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as the end of the season approaches, and Mikel Obi believes his signing will bolster the Blues' attack.
“I know exactly where we stopped. If we have to pick it up again in the summer, it’s just pretty easy to get it done because the player really wants to come to the football club,” Mikel told Sky Sports.
“If you’re talking about a striker to come in and help Chelsea Football Club, you have to talk about Alexander Isak and you have to talk about Victor Osimhen. For me, these are the top two strikers.”
Osimhen has been in explosive form since joining Galatasaray last September, recording 26 goals and five assists in 30 appearances for the Yellow and Reds.
