Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has stated that Galatasaray cannot afford to let their guard down at this crucial point in the season.
Osimhen scored the winner as the Yellow and Reds came from behind to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory away at Alanyaspor in the Super Lig on Sunday, March 9.
The victory gives the title holders a seven-point lead at the top of the Super Lig, ahead of Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce side, who have a game in hand.
Osimhen believes Galatasaray will need to approach the remaining games of the season as if they were finals.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate the team and thank our fans. I think we would not have had the energy to get these three points without them.
“We were not very good in the first half, but we were able to improve ourselves in the second half. We knew that every match until the end of the season would be very difficult and that it would feel like a final. We will try to maintain our momentum,” Osimhen told the club’s official website.
Osimhen has now netted 22 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions for Okan Buruk's side.
