Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, may not feature for Nigeria in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe due to muscle injury.

Nigeria will face Rwanda in Kigali on Friday, March 21, and host Zimbabwe four days later.

However, Troost-Ekng is doubtful for both games due to the injury which also forced him to miss the last two games of his club, Al Kholood, in the Saudi League.

While Nigeria is hopeful that their captain will be available for the games, Al Kholood are yet to issue any update on his health.

Head coach, Eric Chelle will be hopeful he recovers in time from the injury.

Troost-Ekong's condition adds to the injury problems the Eagles are facing ahead of the clashes.

Already, Semi Ajayi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Raphael Onyedika are injured and doubtful for the qualifiers.
