Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara has blamed Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta for Bukayo Saka’s recent injury blow.
Saka was forced off during Arsenal’s win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on December 21 after sustaining a hamstring injury.
The England international later underwent surgery and might not be back until March 2025.
He recently posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed after his operation and promised to come back stronger from the setback.
However, O’Hara believes ‘both Arteta and the fixture list are to blame’ for Saka’s injury, adding that the player had no rest.
“It was always going to happen, Arsenal have got themselves to blame,” O’Hara told Grosvenor Sport.
“Mikel Arteta has played him every single week, including games where you don’t need to play him, like Carabao Cup games.
“I think both the manager and the fixture list are to blame for his injury. The fixture list is outrageous.
“Saka hasn’t had any time off. There’s no rest for the top players.”
