Nigerian international Ademola Lookman has reportedly informed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officially notify him if he will be winning the Men's Footballer of the Year award.
According to reports, the Atalanta star has decided to boycott the CAF Awards gala if he is not going to be crowned the African Footballer of the Year.
This comes amid speculations that Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi has won the prestigious award ahead of the Super Eagles star, as reported by French outlet Foot Mercato.
Lookman has been tipped as the overwhelming favorite to succeed Victor Osimhen as the next African Best following his stellar campaign with Atalanta last season.
The former Leicester City loanee faces stiff competition from Morocco's Achraf Hakimi, Guinea's Serhou Guirassy, South Africa's Ronwen Williams, and Côte d'Ivoire's Simon Adingra.
