Benin Republic head coach Gernot Rohr is aware of the threat posed by Super Eagles ahead of the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier.
The German tactician led the Squirrels to a narrow 2-1 victory against Nigeria in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.
Nigeria will have a chance to change the narrative when they welcome Gernot Rohr's side to the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Saturday, September 7.
Rohr believes the inclusion of some key players who were absent in the last game will be a major boost for the 2023 AFCON finalist.
The 71-year-old also added that he is very much aware that the Super Eagles will be gunning for a revenge in Uyo.
“Nigeria is not a conquered territory, far from it. We beat Nigeria three months ago, they will certainly have a spirit of revenge which can be important and that is normal,” Rohr told Benin Football as quoted by Dailypost.
“They did not have certain players who are there now: Ekong, the captain, Osimhen who will be there this time, he was not there last time, and behind also they have contributions, Ola Aina is there.
“It’s going to be a stronger team than the one we beat in June in Abidjan. We are wary. In addition, at home, they have the obligation to achieve a result now after a series of draws or even defeats.”
