Chelsea’s attempt to sign new striker Samuel Omorodion has hit a snag, with reports indicating that the deal has fallen through.
The Spanish forward, who gained attention after making a strong impression with Almería, joined Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2023. He was later loaned out to Alavés, where he delivered an impressive season, contributing to nine goals, as per data from FotMob.
Omorodion's successful debut season caught Chelsea’s eye, with rumors suggesting he would be part of a complex transfer deal involving Conor Gallagher and Atlético’s pursuit of Julian Alvarez.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has recently reported that the move for Omorodion has collapsed due to contractual issues.
The young forward will not be joining Chelsea this season, as earlier reported. To keep the other transfers linked to this deal alive, Chelsea is now exploring the possibility of signing Joao Félix.
The Portuguese forward, who seems unsettled at Atlético Madrid, previously spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Chelsea. The report indicates that this time, Félix’s move could be a permanent transfer, with a fee of around €50 million expected. Félix, who was on loan at Barcelona last season, scored four goals for Chelsea during his previous stint with the club.
