Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has joined the Ballon d'Or debate, backing Manchester City midfielder Rodri to win the prestigious award.
The debate continues to rage among football fans, with new names emerging after the European Championship and Copa America.
Initially, Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham were the frontrunners, following their impressive season with Los Blancos, winning La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
However, Spain's Rodri and Argentina's Lautaro Martinez have now entered the conversation.
Rodri was instrumental in Spain's Euro-winning campaign, delivering solid midfield performances.
Lautaro Martinez was equally impressive in the Copa America, scoring five goals, including the winner in the final, to help Argentina win their 16th Copa America title.
Oliseh in a recent tweet endorsed Rodri for the Ballon d'Or, stating, "Do we need to say more? Rodri is in a class of his own."
Rodri was voted player of the tournament at the recently concluded Euros.
The Ballon d'Or ceremony will take place in October as it promises to be a keenly contested race.
