Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Thabang Stemmer has urged the club to sign Stanley Nwabali, the Chippa United goalkeeper linked with a move away from the club.
Nwabali's impressive performance at the African Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire, where he kept four clean sheets - a first for a Nigerian goalkeeper - has made him a sought-after asset.
He displaced Francis Uzoho as the Super Eagles' starting goalkeeper and continued to impress last season with 12 clean sheets for Chippa United.
Stemmer believes the 28-year-old would be a valuable addition to Pirates' goalkeeping department.
"Pirates released their goalkeepers to make way for a top goalkeeper like Nwabali," Stemmer told Kickoff.
"Big teams need top goalkeepers, and Pirates always strengthen their squad with the best. With Nwabali, Pirates would have a reliable goalkeeper for their deep runs in all competitions. It would be a great signing, and we need that kind of competition."
