The manager of Leicester City, Enzo Maresca has hinted that Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi could be out for three months.
Ndidi, who was initially named among the Super Eagles 25-man squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations had to be dropped due to his fitness.
The 27-year-old was replaced by Alhassan Yusuf of Royal Antwerp.
Speaking on the latest concerning Ndidi's injury, the Foxes boss noted that the Nigerian international has sustained a muscle injury which could see him on the sideline for a couple of months.
“For Wilf (Ndidi), it will be a long time,” said Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca
“It could be three months. It looks like a muscle problem, but an important one so we now see in the next hours.”
Ndidi has suffered a couple of long-term injuries in recent seasons. His contract with the Foxes expires in June this year.
