Nigerians are calling on the sacking of coach Jose Peseiro ahead of the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations, which starts in January.
The Super Eagles have begun the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on a poor note following a 1-1 draw at home to Lesotho, and then they finished with the same scoreline against Zimbabwe in Rwanda.
With the AFCON tournament starting in about one month, a number of Nigerians are calling on the NFF to consider Mosimane.
The tactician is currently out of job after he recently parted ways with UAE outfit Al Wahda. He remains one of the best managers from the African continent, having won titles in South Africa and Saudi Arabia.
It was gathered that some European clubs are also eyeing the highly-rated 59-year-old.
Only recently, former Super Eagles captain Jay Jay Okocha acknowledged that the former Mamelodi Sundowns manager will improve the quality of the Nigerian team.
Jay Jay admitted that Mosimane is well experienced but said he is unsure about rumours that the tactician is linked to a takeover from Jose Peseiro.
Reacting to the statement, Pitso Mosimane branded the Super Eagles as the 'powerhouse of African football.' He tweeted:
"Humbled Legend. I have highest respect for the Super Eagles . Powerhouse of African Football and supplier of talent for European Teams."
“If we [Nigeria] can get a coach like that, he’d add great value to our football."
