Bayer 04 Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso has revealed the qualities he identified in Victor Boniface that led to the signing of the 22-year-old.
According to Alonso, Boniface's tempo was one that could match that of the Bundesliga.
He was responding to a question from Nigerian journalist Oma Akatugba who asked about the technical qualities of the 22-year-old.
"I had this opinion when we played Union Saint-Gilloise. He was a strong candidate for us. You gave us a good tip. We are very satisfied. He has adapted himself very well to the team plan and the tempo of the Bundesliga"
Leverkusen are currently topping the German Bundesliga table heading into the international break following a 3-0 thrashing of Cologne at the BayArena on Sunday evening.
The deadlock was broken midway through the first half when Jonas Hofmann turned in from close range with Victor Boniface involved in the build-up to the opener.
