Sevilla defender Gonzalo Montiel scored the decisive spot kick that won the Spanish giants their 7th Europa League title against AS Roma at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary.
After a breathtaking 120 minutes of football, the winner of the 2022/2023 Europa League had to be decided via the shootouts after the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Argentine World Cup winner Paulo Dybala gave Jose Mourinho's side the lead in the 35th minute before Sevilla equalized in the 55th-minute courtesy of Mancini's own goal.
The Spanish giants after equalizing went ahead to win 4-1 in the shootout with Montiel scoring the decisive spot-kick to secure Sevilla a record 7th Europa League title.
Fans may recall that Gonzalo Montiel scored the decisive penalty that won Argentina the FIFA World Cup in Russia in December last year.
Likewise, the right back's winning kick ensured that La Albiceleste beat France 4-1 in the shootouts.
