Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has been ruled out of Atalanta's Serie A clash against Fiorentina today (Monday, April 17) at the Estadio Artemio Franchi, Firenze.
This was disclosed by Atalanta boss Gian Pierro Gasperini at a pre-match conference ahead of their Matchday 30 clash.
The 65-year-old Italian tactician explained that the 25-year-old stopped training due to a small problem.
“There is no news compared to yesterday, let’s see with Pasalic if he will recover, Koopmeiners is better, he trained better. Lookman stopped by, it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but he won’t be there on Monday,”
The ex-Leicester City winger has been phenomenal since joining the Serie A side last summer.
Lookman has netted 13 Serie A goals in 25 appearances for the Bergamo-based side.
Gasperini will hope that Lookman will return to action sooner rather than later to help in their bid to finish in the top 4 at the end of the season.
Atalanta are currently in 6th position in the Serie A with 5 points behind Champions AC Milan in 4th place.
