Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi will be out of action for the next three weeks after sustaining an injury in Dortmund's 4-1 win over Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga on Sunday, February 19.
The 21-year-old suffered a thigh injury, the club has confirmed. He was subbed off in the 35th minute after putting his side ahead in the 27th minute.
The in-form winger also assisted Dortmund's second goal as Donyell Malen doubled the lead for Der BVB.
“Karim Adeyemi tore a muscle fibre during Sunday’s game against Hertha Berlin,” the club wrote in a tweet.
“He will not be available for about three weeks. Get well soon.”
Adeyemi has been instrumental to the Dortmund team this season. The young winger has managed 3 goals and an assist in his last 3 games.
He will miss Dortmund's second-leg clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge after giving his side a 1-0 advantage at Signal Iduna Park last week.
